Chittering murder - help us catch Llywelyn's killer
LLYWELYN Thomas, 76, was murdered in his Chittering home on Saturday, December 17.
Detectives believe the father of one was killed during a botched burglary at the house in Ely Road between 9.30pm and 10.30pm. His body was discovered at 12.30pm the following day after concerned neighbours alerted police.
A post mortem examination concluded the retired farmer had died from head injuries following a brutal attack.
Rewards of £50,000 are on offer for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for his murder.
Mr Thomas’ silver Rover 75 estate, registration BJ51 CJV, was stolen during the burglary and later found dumped in Church Lane, Milton.
Detectives want to trace the movements of the Rover between 10.10pm and 11.30pm on Saturday.
It had mechanical problems which means it would have made a lot of noise and been travelling slowly.
Three distinctive watches were also found to be stolen along with a collection of rare coins (images of similar models and coins below).
The reward is made up from £20,000 from Cambridgeshire police, £20,000 from Mr Thomas' family and £10,000 from Crimestoppers.
