What neighbourhood policing means for you

Neighbourhood PolicingNeighbourhood policing is about putting the community at the heart of everything we do.

Each and every neighbourhood has a visible and dedicated team who know the local area inside out. Teams work with residents and partner agencies (such as local councils, housing associations and dog wardens) to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhood.

A neighbourhood is a geographic area, which is of a size that best serves the needs of local communities. It can be a collection of streets or an estate, or it could be a group of villages or a town.

What's different about neighbourhood policing?

As a resident or business in Cambridgeshire you will:

  • Know who is policing the area you live or work in.
  • Have the opportunity to have you say on local policing and contribute towards setting localised policing priorities; raising the issues and concerns that matter to you.
  • See action from your neighbourhood policing team, who will work with you and partners to tackle local concerns.
  • Find out what your team have done to address the concerns you have raised and make your neighbourhood safer.
