Stage 1: Your application form and short listing questionnaire. In the application pack, we request much of the information required to get your application under way. This includes a short listing questionnaire, which will be used to shortlist candidates at stage 1.
Stage 2: Our administration process. We will mark your short listing questionnaire. Should you reach the pass mark, we will then carry out security checks and an Occupational Health check.
Stage 3: When all of our checks have been completed, are of a satisfactory level, we will invite you to one of our PCSO assessment centres. Here you will encounter a competency-based interview, a role-play exercise and a written exercise so that we can determine if you have the necessary skills that we are looking for. The assessment centres are usually held at Wyboston Lakes, and we invite approximately 28 candidates. (Please note the PCSO assessment centre is soon to be standardised and the format is likely to change).
Stage 4: With the Assessment centre successfully completed, we will invite you to our force headquarters in Huntingdon for a Medical with our nurse and a fitness test with our Physical Education Department. We will also start taking up your references at this point and request that you be Counter Terrorist Security Cleared (CTC).
Stage 5: When we are in receipt of all the necessary information and results we require, and they are of a satisfactory level, we will write to you offering you a position as a Police Community Support Officer. (This is subject to there being suitable vacancies at the time). |
