The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 places a duty on all Category 1 responders to "assess the risk of an emergency within, or affecting a geographical area for which each Category 1 responder is responsible and to cooperate in the production of a Community Risk Register ".
Business Continuity Plan
The Force has developed business continuity plans to help ensure the Constabulary can fulfil its functions in the event of an emergency. The plans cover every service from frontline policing to the back up services that support the force. These plans will be exercised during the course of the next year and reviewed and revised to ensure that they continue to be current and fit for purpose.
