Meet the team
The rural community action team is made up of a Sergeant, PCs and PCSOs, much like a neighbourhood policing team. Together we work with the community to deal with issues that affect the rural community. If you would like to contact any of us, please fill in the contact form at the bottom of the page.
| Team member | Biography |
|---|---|
| PC Robin Smith | Robin has been policing Rural Cambridgeshire for over ten years and yields to none in his knowledge of Hare Coursing. Robin’s reputation goes before him, and many a courser has been heard to say “Oh no, not him again!” as PC Smith emerges from the car.
|
| PC Simon Page | Simon joined the team in early 2009 and has already developed a keen eye for detail in his pursuit of rural criminals. He has also forged many positive links with the farming and rural communities in his short time with us. |
| PC Darren Clarke | Darren is the newest addition to RCAT having joined in November 2009. Like Chris and Simon he began his career in the southern part of the county but he has already developed his knowledge of the whole force area to the level where any rural criminal worth his salt will think twice before taking him on. |
| PCSO Lydia James | Lydia’s interests and knowledge stretch from scrap metal to farm security, taking in horses in between. Her latest project is ‘Horsewatch’, a marking and information system that extends nationwide which she has introduced to Cambridgeshire. |
| PCSO Gemma Dear | Gemma came to RCAT from a previous life as a Veterinary Nurse in an Equine Clinic, and has found her prior knowledge and contacts extremely useful working in RCAT. Like all of the team she works very closely with Cambridgeshire Countryside Watch to support rural communities across the force. |
